About me

marina-sala-shamanic-transformation

My background is in academia, where I researched mediation in the Middle East. After life-changing significant trauma in my early twenties, I decided to leave academia and go travelling. This new exciting journey led me into alternative healing and grassroots conflict-resolution work; my two passions.

I  began my formal training in shamanism in 1996 in Australia, alongside studies in Reiki, Tarot, and the Qabbalah. From there, I spent extended periods in Peru (both the jungle and the Andes), Ecuador, and Mexico, learning directly from traditional shamans, including those working within the Red Path tradition.

On returning to the UK, I continued my training with the Northern Drum Shamanic Centre, completing their three-year Practitioner Training (2003–2006), followed by ongoing study with The Sacred Trust from 2007 to 2020.

I have now been in practice for over 30 years. Today, my work blends traditional shamanic approaches with trauma-informed Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic techniques (through PESI®), and conflict-resolution skills. Clients often describe this work as cutting through what can otherwise take many hours of talking therapy, allowing deeper material to be reached safely and directly.

While my sessions are immersive, interactive, and deeply therapeutic, I remain a strong advocate of talking therapies and see them as complementary and an important part of a wider, integrated healing journey.

While I take my work very seriously, I am passionate about having a good giggle doing improvised theatre, hanging out with friends, and spending special time with nature spirits.
